Riverton Utah High School raises $133,000 for Intermountain Healing Hearts
Riverton High School raises $133,000 for Intermountain Healing Hearts, which helps those with congenital heart defects.
The school holds the fundraiser during the holiday season and a different charity benefits from the fundraising each year.
The students and faculty focus on who they help rather than how much they raise. The results speak for themselves; the school set a state record with their most recent efforts, raising more than 130K.
“At our school we don’t really worry about the total, we worry about the change we can make in someone’s life,” said Parker Wilder.
For three weeks, students and faculty learn about the charity by interacting with people involved in the charity. While they learn, they collect donations from families, local businesses, and each other.
