Special Needs Ability Program, Inc. (SNAP)

Special Needs Ability Program, Inc. (SNAP) is a Florida based non-profit 501(c)3 Corporation that has several programs for Special Needs families, including our Workability Program which primary focus is to teach special needs young adults job & social skills. Our program "Lawn Care in a SNAP" pairs Special Needs young adults with retired "Veterans" who are our certified Job Coaches teaching lawn care skills.  This year SNAP hosted our first “Workability at Seas” cruise which we raised the funds for 7 Special Needs young adults to experience their first cruise vacation while working on the cruise ship.  We also had several workshops on interviewing, filling out an application, and working with the public.  The cruise was a huge success.

We are considered a national organization because we focus on empowering special needs families and educating the general public to the unique ability our population has to offer.  We provide great deal of advocacy work to families anywhere in the United States needing assistance with their child’s I.E.P. and provide assistance in connecting families with needed services in their area.  Our Director, Jamie Grover has traveled extensively giving Workshops on various topics from California to New York over the past three years.  All of SNAP services are provided to the Special Needs community at no charge to the participant or their families.

SNAP receives no funding from the state or federal government at this time.  All our programs operate on the generosity of our contributors, business sponsor’s, and fundraising.  As with most non-profit’s we constantly are seeking funds to keep our programs going and serve as many unique Special Needs individuals as we can.   Donations in any amount are always greatly appreciated but we also gladly accept donations for raffles, auction items, and rummage sales we conduct throughout the year as well.
